FAQs

Why is regular auto maintenance important?

Regular auto maintenance is paramount to the longevity, safety, and efficiency of your vehicle. It serves as a proactive measure to prevent costly breakdowns and keep your car running reliably. Through routine inspections and servicing, potential issues can be identified and addressed early, averting more extensive and expensive repairs in the future. Regular maintenance also enhances fuel efficiency, saving you money at the pump while reducing your carbon footprint. Furthermore, it helps maintain the resale value of your vehicle, as a well-maintained car with a documented service history is more attractive to potential buyers. In essence, regular auto maintenance is an investment that ensures both the immediate and long-term well-being of your automobile, promoting safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

What should I do when my check engine light comes on?

When your check engine light comes on, it’s important to get ahold of your mechanic. The light can mean a variety of things, from a loose gas cap, to something extremely serious, and for us to know what is going on with the vehicle we need to see what the vehicles computers are telling us. The light is to let you know that your car has something to say, its our job to listen to it, translate it for you, and get it fixed so you can get back on the road safely.

What is preventative maintenance, and why should I do it for my car?

Preventative maintenance is automotive services and repairs that are performed typically at what are called service intervals, service intervals might be in miles, or a duration of time, but is typically in miles (with the exception of oil changes using both, and the oil should be changed at whatever comes first, the mileage, or the date). Preventative maintenance can include things like engine air filter replacements, cabin air filter replacements, oil changes, serpentine belt replacements, brake services, fluid services such as brake fluid exchanges, coolant flushes, and more. These types of services should be done in regular intervals to ensure the smooth and safe operation of your vehicle, and will prevent other, more severe, and more expensive repairs down the road, as it also gives us a chance to check the systems we are performing maintenance on, and catch any potential issues before they become real and present issues that could jeopardize your ability to drive your car.
